Our Purpose

TransAct Advisory Services was formally established in 2008 to fill a void: For most companies and organizations with irregular deal flow it makes little economic sense to build an own M&A department. TransAct Advisory Services addresses that need by offering the services of an M&A department on a flexible, "when needed" basis.

Who We Are

We are a small group of globally experienced former corporate M&A professionals, investment bankers, corporate executives and entrepreneurs.

The group of partners is coordinated by Ralph Arnold. Ralph started his career in 1988 as an M&A professional for investment banks in New York and Frankfurt. In the mid-1990's he joined the chemicals and pharmaceuticals conglomerate Hoechst and was involved in transformational transactions culminating in the merger between Hoechst and France's Rhône-Poulenc to form the life sciences leader Aventis. As Head of M&A of Aventis he was responsible to streamline the group's portfolio. In 2000, he co-founded the internet venture Xbridge jointly with The Boston Consulting Group as an anchor investor. Xbridge today is the United Kingdom's leading online insurance and finance brokerage for owner managed businesses. Subsequently, he joined Bayer Innovation as its Managing Director to build a new ventures platform for the Bayer Group. After successfully advising a number of global corporate clients and The Boston Consulting Group, he founded TransAct Advisory Services in 2008 to leverage his investment banking, corporate M&A and entrepreneurial background. Ralph has lived and worked in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, USA and Brazil. He holds an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
